Layers and colours.

Shapes and patterns.

I'm an artist who creates colourful abstract art

It is sometimes intuitive and intricate and sometimes bright and bold.

It often features motifs observed in nature or shapes and ideas derived from drawing objects. I use expressive mark making, pattern and colour to create abstract pieces which feature repetition and rhythm, layers of complexity and organic forms.  I’m fascinated by the interplay of colours, shapes and patterns.

Inspirations

I’m mesmerized by the beauty, colour and pattern in our natural world and in items and objects.

I seek inspiration everywhere, finding interesting shapes, patterns and delightful details to incorporate into my artworks.

The magic of

sketchbooks…

I am passionate about sketchbooks as a creative tool for expression and discovery. My greatest hope is that I can help inspire and encourage others to find their own creative voice by using a sketchbook.

I am the author of the book ‘Expressive Sketchbooks, Developing Creative Skills Courage and Confidence’ published by Quarry Books in 2020 and the creator of online classes to help folk develop their own sketchbook practice.
