Bathed in deep indigo blues and crowned with a glowing golden moon, The Button Box Moon is an acrylic painting on paper. My hope is that it evokes a sense of wilderness, half grasped memories and the quiet wonder of walking beneath a large sky.

Inspired by starlit coastal paths and the wild freedom of nature, it reflects both the vastness of the night sky and perhaps the intimacy of personal memory.

Built up slowly through many layers of acrylic paint, the surface holds a rich archaeology of colour and texture, with earlier marks still visible beneath. It is a painting that hopefully speaks of adventure and dreaming, but also of stillness and connection. It is patterned and decorative.
