KEY POINTS

• We will work on each painting in turn, adding a little paint and moving on to the next painting, building up rich and interesting paintings piece by piece

• Explore the different paint techniques explored in the class including:

  • Scraping

  • Drawing through wet paint with a point

  • Glazing layers

  • Transparent and opaque paint

  • Moving paint with a wet paper towel

  • Negative painting and positive painting

• Experiment with using different tools

• Experiment with using different sized paint brushes

• Keep going until you have an interesting painting and you are broadly happy with the composition

• Consider whether you have enough variety and at the same time enough unity and cohesion
