This painting is called Hope Blossoms, it’s acrylic paint on a cradled wooden panel.
It is made by building up layer after layer of paint, richness, texture and colour.
It is a unique one of a kind painting, but part of a small collection inspired by pages in my sketchbook and the joy of a vase of flowers in the home.. This painting celebrates that small moment of connecting with nature and a delightful burst of colour.
It’s bold and bright, but also has a complexity and depth. I wanted this painting to feel like a precious object with a history… the painted edges and sides are a conscious decision to make the painting feel like a treasured three dimensional item.
This wood panel was hand prepared with light coats of primer and then finished with coats of satin UV varnish and wax to protect the painting and create a lustrous surface. This painting is ready to hang as is, or for you to frame depending on preference.
